First opened in 1773, the University of Münster is one of the largest universities in Germany. Spread across the entire city, around 45,000 students and almost 600 professors study and teach in all common disciplines. The Faculty of Medicine is celebrating its one 100th anniversary in 2025.

The University of Münster’s Fürstenberghaus will be home to the “Faculty 8 History/Philosophy” outside of the DGEpi 2025 annual conference. Located on Domplatz in the heart of Münster, the location could hardly be more central. If you walk a few meters to the east, you will come across the Münstersche Aa. This small but beautiful river rises in north-western Westphalia, is dammed in the Aasee directly in Münster and then flows once across the city.
